Is July the new January?

Today is the 19th of July, 2026.
The past few weeks have felt a bit like January all over again.
I re-started going to the gym after a hiatus for at least 3 months - following exam preparation and even after that, i never really got the enthusiasm to re-start.
Something about ending June, and realising this was the second half of the year made me consider getting back into my wellness routine.
I wonder if there is an element of not wanting the end of the year to come and not having achieved the milestones i had hoped?
Argh, i don't think this is what is happening with me.
Recently i have been thinking about life.
Life - as a thing that continues. So i sometimes look back and remember things from the past with my friends and family such as something that happened in my childhood or when i was at University. I have thought about the memories and things that i remember. In doing this, i think about how significant those moments were in the 'present' now in the past.
Am i making sense?
So in thinking of how significant those moments were, and looking back and seeing how dim those pictures seem, i then am spurred to really intentionally take action that i enjoy today.
Not letting anxiety or worry overwhelm me, but really thinking about things i can do that add up to a better life for my future self.
Whether it is going to the gym, lifting weight at home, doing my back stretches, drinking my matcha and having my supplements. Even other things like journalling, reading a book, saying yes to hanging out with friends (because let's be honest, i am hardly ever the one organising these- but may i should try this one time and see how it goes) etcetera etcetera 😊. I know that i will probably not remember the small feeling of not wanting to do a thing but my body and mid will remember that i took these actions, because it will compound in the future.
I guess what i am saying is that living in the present should help to serve the future but not to the detriment of the present 😕
So, this July, i hope i continue to take positive actions and enjoy the moments so that my future self can thank me.
